Books that just transport you to a different place
I’ve read quite a few books, and I’ve procrastinated a lot of homework just to finish; sometimes I didn’t even go out to see my friends just so I could finish. I would say that I know a good amount of good books. However there are few books who just completely make you believe that you are in another place and make you feel what the characters are feeling. These are my recommendations for books when you just want to escape to another reality.
First is a very well known book, Harry Potter. Although many people don’t like very long books, I personally enjoy them. Harry Potter was written by the controversial author J.K Rowling and it's a series of seven fantasy novels. Harry Potter is about an orphan boy who goes on adventures with his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They all attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry faces his biggest enemy, Lord Voldemort. It’s incredibly detailed and you can imagine yourself going through all of the experiences Harry faces. Trust me you will not be bored with these books, since every page something new is happening.

My favorite parts in Harry Potter are the times he has his own little family; since he’s an orphan it’s heartwarming to read about Harry finally having some sort of family. For example when he finds his godfather Sirius Black, he finally has a father figure. Although Sirius was eventually killed, he was still present even if it was for a short amount of time. The other time is when Harry is spending time with the whole Weasley bunch. Again he has family because they take him in, and he basically becomes another child for them. I just genuinely love seeing Harry happy and finally getting what he deserves, a family.
The next book is one of my favorite books. It’s called Look Again. This book is more emotional; it truly makes you feel like you are the main character and everything that happens to her is happening to you. Your emotions will be on a roller coaster if you decide to read this book. The book was written by Lisa Scottoline, and it was published in 2009. The book is about a mother who adopted her child. One day she sees her child’s picture in a missing person flyer. Since she is a journalist, she decides to investigate why her child is on that flyer. It makes her question if she even adopted her child legally. She goes through hell and back just to find out the truth.

My favorite part of this book is her having to literally stalk people just to find clues. I also love the way her emotions are explained thoroughly. I would even consider her emotions a character because it’s so personified. I also really enjoy the times that she has with her son, since he’s adorable and you can tell he loves his mom so much. It's genuinely so cute. I think this book is one of the best and I don’t think anyone will get bored. If you really like mystery, this definitely should be on your list to read.
